THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND
 

​Pruritus – medical term for itching – gives manifold bad night sleep and anxious feelings, as well as scratching. With respect to latter, it is also not unusual to develop infections.
 
Potentially with different physical and/or mental causes behind such as, inter alia,
- eczema
- stress
- insect bites
- psoriasis
   &
- allergies  

Fortunately, there are still


NATURAL ANSWERS OF RELIEF – SCIENTIFICALLY VERIFIED


* Apple Cider Vinegar
 
According to the U.S.
-      National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF)
apple cider vinegar is specifically powerful to treat itchy scalp.
 
By rinsing with apple cider vinegar diluted with lukewarm water 1:1.
 
* Peppermint Oil
 
Based on research at, inter alia,
-      Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt
peppermint oil (methanol) can relieve itching in 2 ways:
-applying on skin
  &
-applying petrolatum
 
whereby applying directly on skin was more effective. Especially by diluting essential oil in a carrier oil before application on the skin.
 
* Baking Soda
 
According to research at, inter alia, the
-      University of Sassari in Sassari, Italy
baking soda is powerful to treat fungal skin conditions which may cause itching.
 
Thereby, to relieve itching, the U.S. National Eczema Association (NEA) recommends
-      either to add one quarter of a cup of baking soda to a warm bath
-      or to mix baking soda with water for a paste to apply on the respective part of itching skin.
 
According to the U.S. National Eczema Association (NEA) also
 
* Moisturizing
 
is recommended.
 
Using a
-      moisturizer with high oil content
-      by moisturizing before bed
-      have skin hydrated during night
        &
-      have hands moisturized whenever in contact with water
 
* Colloidal Oatmeal
 
Colloidal oatmeal as a fine-grounded oatmeal can not only be a protective barrier on the skin to relieve dryness and itching.
 
It is also antioxidant and anti-inflammatory to reduce skin irritation.
 
According to research at, inter alia,
-      South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD
 
* Stress Reduction
 
As based on research at the
-      University of Miami in Miami, FL
psychological stress may cause itching.
 
To be relaxed with appropriate techniques for stress reduction such as, inter alia,
- meditation
- mindfulness
or
- yoga
 
* Cooling down itchiness
 
According to the
-      American Academy of Dermatology (AAD)
it is advisable to cool down the affected area of itchy skin potentially with an ice pack or at least wet cloth and/or wet wraps.

 
This also reduces inflammation.​
