  • Food allergies
 
Also food allergies are strongly related to stomach pain. Affecting some 6% of U.S. citizens of any kind of age. With special reference also to symptoms such as hives and anaphylaxis.
 
  • Gastritis
 
As a type of pain in the upper abdomen. Manifold along with the feeling of being full and of nausea.
 
  • Stomach ulcers
 
Called also peptic ulcers, these are sores in the lining of the small intestine related to the stomach.
 
  • Gastroenteritis
 
Asa type of ‘stomach flu’ is a kind of viral/bacterial infection aiming stomach and bowels leading to diarrhea and pain.
 
  • Constipation
 
A situation with only 3 or even less bowel movements per week, considered as constipation, may also release stomach pain.
 
  • Celiac disease
 
As an autoimmune disorder it could affect small intestines in cases when gluten is consumed like barley/rye/whet/etc. Manifold leading to diarrhea and stomach pain.
 
  • Appendicitis
   
As an inflammation of the appendix, it may also cause serious stomach pain, increasing over time.Frequently along with fever and nausea.
 
  • Diverticular disease
 
Also named diverticulosis and diverticulitis, it may cause pain on the left side of the stomach. Along with nausea and fever, it usually may hurt at an age of 50+.
 
  • Abdominal adhesions
 
According to above mentioned NIDDK, 90% of those with open-abdomen surgery develop scar tissue causing to be sticky to each other and the abdominal wall.

  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

  • Pancreatitis

  • Gallbladder disease
 
Gallbladder can be the cause of stomach pain in the upper right of the abdomen. Especially with gallstones, along with vomiting/nausea/jaundice.
 
  • Myocardia infarction
 
With the usual medical term heart attack, this is insufficient blood flow to the heart. With stomach ache and heartburn frequently.
 
  • Pelvic inflammatory disease
 
This type is a potential infection of uterus/ovaries/cervix/fallopian tubes/etc. Not unusual for some 5% of young U.S. women aged 15-24. Known for stomach pain in the lower abdomen. Manifold accompanied by stomach pain, e.g. when having sex and/or in case of urination.
   
Not to overlook
 
  • Grohn’s disease
 
To be understood as an infection somewhere in the gastrointestinal tract (between anus and mouth).
 
Potentially causing e.g. constipation/fatigue/weight loss – and stomach pain.
 
Also not to forget about
 
  • Acid reflux/GERD
 
A situation with acid and/or other stomach contents are flowing back to esophagus. With a burning sensation back in the mouth. Causing manifold heartburn- affecting every U.S. citizen.
 
If this situation comes up twice a week, we call it gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
