SUFFER FROM ECZEMA - WHICH TYPE?

Unlike manifold assumptions, eczema is not just a single and unique health issue. But rather an appearance of some specific types, as covered in this blog. Read on to learn about details. 

THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND

More than 30 million of our population a struck by a common health issue called eczema/dermatitis irrita​ting our skin.  
 
With different types, triggered in some different way like, e,g., certain ways of weather or allergies, etc. With different types of consequences. Although it is not contagious.

That’s why we should know about the different types in order to tackle the appropriate consequences.​    

PATTERN OF ECZEMA TYPES – SCIENTIFICALLY VERIFIED

​As based on research at, inter alia,

- Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT
- Tunis El Manar University in Tunis, Tunisia`
- Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, WA  

Now let’s start with the different types.


  • Contact dermatitis
 
This can happen when you get in touch with specific substances.
 
With the consequence of certain symptoms like, inter akia,

- blistering
- rash with small red bumps (hives)
- itchy/burning/discolored skin  

In fact, there are 2 ways of contact dermatitis:


* irritant contact dermatitis with exposure to skin irritating substances like
- harsh detergents
- some shampoos
and
* allergic contact dermatitis when immune system reacts to an allergen


  • Hand eczema
 
In cases where eczema affects only the hands.
 
With itchy and dry patches of skin, red or dak brown colored, in form of blisters or cracks.
 
Triggered by certain chemicals by, inter alia, or other cleaning or other purposes.


  • Atopic dermatitis
 
In fact, atopic eczema/dermatitis is the most frequent type.
 
Not only, it is a type which happens frequently with children. Especially, if it had happened already to their parents. With special reference to hay fever and asthma. Showing up manifold as inflamed and itchy patches.
 
Especially at elbows, knees, hands, scalp, etc.
 
Atopic dermatitis are similar to


  • Neurodermatitis
 
Causing scaly patches on skin.
 
With special reference to back of neck, groin, scalp, leg, back of the neck.
 
Potentially in color red or violet, etc.
 
Happening especially to persons who have already other eczema.


  • Discoid eczema
 
This happens preferably in women before 30 and men after 50 years of age.
 
Showing up on skin manifold in groin area, lower legs, back of hands or on scalp.
 
Happening, inter alia, by insect bites or skin infections, etc.


  • Stasis eczema
 
Also known as varicose eczema, as it happens frequently in varicose veins of of lower legs of elder adults over the age of 50.
 
More frequently with women at age.


  • Dyshydrotic eczema
 
This usually happens with adults less than 40 years old.
 
On hands and feet.
 
Manifold caused by

- hay fever
    or
- fungal skin infections
