While cholesterol is basically a vital substance for our health, its appropriate level and relationship between ‘good’ (HDL) & ‘bad’ (LDL) cholesterol is of importance. With special reference to our heart and cardiovascular system. An unhealthy level of cholesterol may cause, inter alia, even stroke and heart attack. In order to be on the safe side,  the American Heart Association (AHA) recommends certain natural drinks. Scientifically verified by U.S. & international medical science. Read on to learn more about.

THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND

Cholesterol is an important substance our body basically needs to establish and support cells and hormones. Consisting of 2 parts: ‘good’ high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and ‘bad’ low-density lipoprotein (LDL). It is vital for our health to keep both in a  balanced relationship in favor of an appropriate amount of good HDL. With special reference to our heart and cardiovascular system. Unfortunately yet, this relationship is highly out of control in our industrialized society. Primarily due to unhealthy diet. Fortunately, nature offers us some nutrition to balance out this disparity in favor of our health.

Including

HEALTHY DRINKS – SCIENTIFICALLY VALIDATED

E.g.,

Green tea

Based on its natural constituents catechins and epigallocatechin gallate, green tea may lower ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol.

According to research at the Government College University Faisalabad in Faisalabad, Pakistan, these natural constituents of green tea may lower total cholesterol and cut  LDL cholesterol specifically by more than 30%.

Similar the situation with

Tomato juice

because of its compound lycopene as well as its content of niacin (vitamin B-3) and fiber.

With respect to total cholesterol and reducing the amount of ‘bad’ LDL.

Based on research at, inter alia, China Medical University in Taichung, Taiwan.

Oat milk

According to research at, inter alia,
  • Universite d’Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand, France
and the
  • University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Canada
the substance beta-glucan in oats helps to cut down cholesterol absorption, reducing LDL specifically.

Plant-based milk smoothies

Both, oat and soy milk you may also combine to a smoothie by adding per cup of 250 ml additionally cholesterol-lowering vegetables and/or fruits like, inter alia,
  • 2/3 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup of Swiss chard/kale
  • 1 slice of melon or mango
  • 1 banana
  • 2 small plums
  • 1 handful of prunes or grapes

Based on research at, inter alia, McGill University in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Canada.

Berry smoothies

This is another helpful smoothy for cholesterol management because of berries’ content of fiber and antioxidants. Specifically the antioxidant  anthocyanins as you find it, inter alia, in
