In the U.S., more than 30 million adults are diagnosed with diabetes 2, plus more than 80 million prediabetics. Unfortunately, with no synthetic solution. Therefore, we tend to nature´s answers of cutting down blood sugar. Read on to learn more about.

THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND

The U.S. is worldwide # 1 in conventional medicine. Spending most for medicine in the industrialized world, with $3.5 trillion per year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Despite of that, more than 80% of non-age-related deaths are the consequence of unsolved health problems (according to the World Health Organization – WHO). With diabetes 2 in top region, along with heart failure and cancer.

In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 30 million U.S. adults, i.e. some 12% of our population in total are diagnosed with diabetes 2. Another 84 million U.S. adults are prediabetic, i.e. with higher-than-normal blood sugar levels.

Unfortunately, there is no synthetic drug on the market to stop this debilitating health issue. Rather, the most prescribed synthetic drug with 120 million prescriptions worldwide, comes with a minimum of 69 side effects, according to its producer (pharma giant Bristol Myers Squibb) but no cure.

LOWER BLOOD SUGAR – SCIENTIFICALLY VALIDATED

The only chance lies with lowering the blood sugar level.

Not only for appropriate diabetes management but also to avoid debilitating consequences of high blood sugar. Such as, inter alia,
  • impairment of vision and even blindness
  • heart attack/stroke
  • kidney failure
  • damage to nervous system

If tried again with synthetics, new side effects and health issues may be the result. A vicious cycle.

Other than adjusting your nutrition and other lifestyle factors the natural way to lower high blood sugar level. As follows.

Nutrition

  • Quantity & Quality of carbohydrates
According to research at, inter alia, the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN, eat low-carbohydrate & high-protein food to cut your blood sugar level.

With special reference to complex carbohydrates such as whole grain oats and sweet potatoes.

In this context, also

  • Soluble fiber

is important, as it slows down the breakdown of carbohydrates and the pace of the absorption of related sugar.

This kind of fiber we find, inter alia, in
- whole grains (like brown rice, etc.)
- fruits
- vegetables
- low glycemic index foods

To take a look at the glycemic index of the food you consume is important, since the glycemic index is measuring foods in terms of rising blood sugar levels. Therefore, it is relevant to swallow foods with an index below of 55. Such as, inter alia,
- non-starchy vegetables
- legumes
- nuts & seeds
- leafy greens
- quinoa
- sweet potatoes
- low-fat milk
- fish
- etc.

According to research, inter alia, in Bucharest, Romania, at
- N. Paulescu National Institute of Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases,
- Carol Davila University of Medicine,
   and the
- Foundation for Healthy Nutrition

  • Water

Staying hydrated is not only important for our health in general but to cut down blood sugar in particular, as it supports kidneys getting rid of extra sugar in the urine.

Avoiding fruit juices and other sugary drinks (including soda and fruit juices) at the same time.

Based on research at, inter alia, the Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester, UK.

Although not directly part of our nutrition,

  • Herbs

such as, inter alia,
- green tea
- cinnamon
- bitter melon
- fenugreek
- American ginseng
- aloe vera
do have some relevance in this nutritional context to boost diet with essential nutrients with respect to controlling levels of blood sugar.

Other lifestyle factors

  • Stress management

Unlike manifold assumptions, stress does have a severe impact on blood sugar, as stress hormones released by the body under tension may well raise the level of blood sugar.

Based on research at, inter alia, Kangwon National University in Chuncheon, South Korea.

  • Weight control

Being overweight supports diabetes in a negative sense. To avoid, regular consumption of fruits and vegetables, as well as exercise is helpful.

According to research at George Washington University in Rockville, MD, already 7% of weight loss can lower the risk of diabetes by 58%.

  • Exercise

Thereby, exercise is not only good for weight control but also increases insulin sensitivity.

According to research at, inter alia, Cardiff University in Cardiff, UK.

This implies the importance also of sound

  • Sleep

as a lack of sleep could raise blood sugar level with respect to insulin resistance. Especially in early morning.

IN A NUTSHELL

Diabetes 2 is one of the top non-age-related diseases and deaths in the U.S. with more than 30 million adults diagnosed, plus more than 80 million prediabetics. Unfortunately, with no synthetic solution. Therefore, we tend to nature’s answers of cutting down blood sugar. If you are already on medication, talk to your doctor first.
