FAST FOOD - FAST DEATH?

5/12/2019

While we may not generalize, in many cases the lack of essential nutrients on one side, and the high-load of substances harming our health on the other, are the signature feature of many fast-food temples. Paving the way to premature and preventable death in many cases. Learn more about in this blog.

THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND

Food is certainly the most important building stone of our life. However, we may not only consider its quantity and taste.

Rather, what decisively counts is the quality of the food we consume, i.e. if it covers those nutrients our health and longevity is dependent on. Regardless, if we consume the food ‘fast’ or relaxed.

SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUND

While on one side, the crucial point is the lack of certain essential nutrients in fast food, on the other it is their manifold contents of unhealthful substances in high dosages, such as salt, sugar, trans fats, as well as processed preservatives, etc.

Unfortunately, based on research at the University of Connecticut, almost ¾ of parents feed their children from and in fast-food temples with high but empty calories and ultra-processed food lacking those nutrients and fiber their body needs to stay healthy and survive on long-term basis.

Not surprisingly since, according to U.S. governmental Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in line with the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, more than 1/3 of U.S. adults overindulge in same fast food.

With the consequence of supporting obesity and the risk of those ‘modern’ diseases our population young and old is suffering – with manifold premature and preventable death. Including those 3 diseases topping the list of some 1800 ‘chronic’ diseases – heart failure, cancer and diabetes. Not to forget also about Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, and ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol, etc.

Scientifically validated by, inter alia, Columbia University in New York, Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, MA, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, Brown University in Providence, RI, and the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York, etc.

Despite of the fact that some of these fast-food temples verbally offer more healthy food on their menus, but have not crossed the border to health food yet, for 30 years and more now.

IN A NUTSHELL

While we may not generalize, in many cases the lack of essential nutrients on one side, and the high-load of substances harming our health on the other, are the signature feature of many fast-food temples. Paving the way to premature and preventable death in many cases. Learn more about in this blog.
