Unfortunately, health of my heart is not the best. Unfortunately yet, prescription drugs I am living on since many years with all their side effects, did not change my fate either. Any 'naturals' you can recommend?

Dr. Fritz: 

Your heart is the most important organ in your body. The less you care about, the higher the risk to be among those 2 million American citizens dying each year – premature and preventable – primarily  of cardiovascular disease such as heart attack, and stroke, as the consequence of, inter alia, hypertension and high cholesterol. With related costs of more than 30 billion dollars annually for heart failure alone.

 
To avoid this vicious cycle, you will hardly find an answer in the drugstore at the corner (neither on prescription nor OTC.). Rather, your heart – center piece of your cardiovascular (eco-)system – requires, besides appropriate physical activity,  a 'healthy' diet. To be sure, calories is not the critical key term – nutrients is.
 
Our ancestors knew that from their grand-grand-grandparents, before their descendants ignored that in our ‘modern’ world in favor of malnutrition due to ‘junk’ and other unhealthy food.   • High protein diet from fish    
  • Whole grain cereals
  • Restriction of saturated fat, added sugar and salt
  • Replacement of cookies and cakes with fruits and nuts
Scientifically validated also by recent research at the University of Oxford, UK, according to which only 100 grams of fresh fruits daily can reduce cardiovascular death by one third!

Additionally, vitamin D3 is recommended, according to research at the University of Leeds School of Medicine in the UK. 

Not to overlook avoiding those risky lifestyle factors for heart dysfunction, elaborated by a countrywide meta study at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Such as
* obesity
* high blood pressure
* diabetes
* lack of physical activity
* smoking


If you follow this regimen, your heart shall be on the safe side.
