Although the U.S. is spending most in medicine per capita worldwide, more than 50 million adults and 300,000 children in this country suffer from arthritis – especially osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). ‘Chronically’, since respective synthetic drugs only can only suppress symptoms – with manifold debilitating side effects.

Fortunately yet, nature offers us relief with nutritional and other lifestyle adjustments, as demonstrate by at least 5 examples.

THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND

Arthritis hits no less but 50 million adult U.S. citizens and 300,000 children.

While there are in fact many different types of arthritis, in most cases it is osteoarthritis, an ailment tearing down the bolstering between the joints, with pain, stiffness and swelling of the joints.

Another frequent type is rheumatoid arthritis (RA) when the immune system attacks your joints by mistake.

Anyway, this ailment is considered ‘chronic’, since synthetic drugs only can suppress the symptoms to a certain degree – and with side effects, leading to additional ailments. Yes, a vicious cycle.

Leaves us with the question if nature can offer us opportunities without debilitation. In fact, yes, nature does.

GLOBAL SCIENTIFIC VALIDATION

While we certainly cannot cover whole portfolio of nature’s kingdom of health, at least let’s focus on a small sample of 5 natural nutritional and  other lifestyle adjustments – scientifically validated – about which most arthritis sufferers may have just a limited knowledge.

Vitamin D

When we talk about deficiencies in terms of nutrients, vitamin D plays a special role, as any deficiency of this vitamin not only weakens our immune system in general, but more or less any part of our body – the cartilage of our joints being no exception.

Especially rheumatoid arthritis is related to vitamin D deficiency and therefore should be balanced out. According to research at, inter alia, Zhejang University in Hangzhou, China.

To do so, not only do we have many natural foods containing vitamin D – the best source of vitamin D is certainly sunlight falling on our skin and producing there this type of vitamin in a most natural way.

Another deficiency to balance in your body for better arthritis relief are 2 biologic chemicals:

Chrondroitin & Glucosamine

Why?

  • Chondroitin sulfate (CS)

to be found in your bones and joint cartilage helps to block those enzymes breaking down the cartilage in joints.

Similar important for your joints is

  • Glucosamine hydrochloride (GH)

to maintain, enhance the growth, and repair the cartilage.

According to research at, inter alia, the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, UT,  University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, the University of Montreal Hospital Research Centre (CRCHUM) in Montreal, Canada, and the IMIM Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute in Barcelona, Spain, the University of Leeds in Leeds and the University of Oxford in Oxford – both UK, the University of Liege in Liege, Belgium, the University of Paris 06 in Paris, France, and the University Hospital Muenster in Muenster, Germany – just to pick a sample out of global medical science.

Based on more than 600 study participants to be administered 400 mg of chondroitin sulfate and 500 mg of glucosamine hydrochloride each 3 times a day for half a year to relieve pain, swelling and stiffness of the joints.

Yes, both CS and GH – can be bought on the market.

Omega-3

fatty acids as well support our immune system and relieve inflammation with special reference to rheumatoid arthritis (RA), based on research at, inter alia, the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, and the Federal University of Espirito Santo in Alegre, Brazil.

Just add, inter alia, fish such as salmon, sardines, tuna, to you diet to supply your body with appropriate omega-3 fatty acids.

Even more, there are natural lifestyle factors to help managing arthritis additionally.

E.g.,

Massage

of joints and muscles to relieve arthritis pain for a month.

According to, inter alia, the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL based on light- and moderate-pressure massage.

Exercise

in water enhances not only our motion but also relieves pressure on joints.
According to research at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT.
