nBasically, plant-food supports health and longevity, if balancing out some deficiencies as indicated in this chapter. To fight even most debilitating health issues such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Read on to learn about details. Scientifically validated.

THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND

Since first human beings entered our globe the Earth, mankind’s existence – just like that of other living species such as animals and plants – is strictly subject to laws of nature.

This implies that only our body can save – and regain – health with its natural immune system and self-healing power. Supported with natural remedies – with special reference to herbs and other plants.

That’s how not only Ayurveda, the Indian type of natural medicine, and Traditional Chines Medicine (TCM) developed since thousands of years but also Health from the Bible 2000 years ago (as you have learned from our respective seminar). Based on the fact that residents of the Middle East had their herbary growing plants for diet (like fruits and vegetables) – as well as for medical purpose.

Including any dramatic health issues of our time such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

While this power of plants for our health has been internationally verified scientifically at, inter alia, the

- University of Florence

&
- University hospital of Careggi
(both in Florence, Italy) we learn about certain …

LIMITS OF PLANT-BASED FOODS - SCIENTIFICALLY VERIFIED

…which you may better miss in favor of your health.

As based on research at, inter alia, the University of Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

This negative effect is especially true for ultra-processed plant foods which are
  • high in calories and added sugar/salt/fats and industrial additives
           but
  • low of whole foods
respectively.

Like, inter alia,
  • commercially produced bread/cakes/pastries/cookies
  • breakfast cereals
  • pre-packaged snacks
  • energy bars
  • flavored dairy drinks
  • carbonated beverages
  • instant sauces, soups, noodle pots, and desserts.

E.g., increasing ultra-processed plant food just by 10% can increase the risk of heart failure and stroke, as well as cancer and diabetes highly.

According to research at, inter alia,

- University of Paris 13 in Bobigny

&
- University of Montpellier in Montpellier
   (both France)
   as well as the

- University of Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo, Brazil
- Imperial College London in London, UK

More than that, highly processed plant foods contain lots of calories leading to higher weight and even obesity.

Based on research at, inter alia,

- University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC
- Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires, Argentina&
- Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick, NJ

However, there is some misconceptions involved, when favoring vegetarian/vegan food with respect to health.

Because this type of seemingly highly healthy food is lacking appropriate amounts of vital nutrients like
  • vitamins B-12 & D
  • omega-3 fatty acids
  • iron
  • calcium
according to research at, inter alia, East Carolina University in Grteenville, NC.

Leading, e.g., to increased risk of hip fractures in women, as based on research at, inter alia, the University of Leeds in Leeds, UK.

This, however, does not speak against vegetarian/vegan diets, rather, if favoring this type of food, it is important to outbalance the deficiencies, as mentioned.

Rounding up, yes, plant-based food – including well-balanced vegetarian/vegan diet - supports longevity, as based on research at, inter alia,

- Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, MA

&
- University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI

As long as we incorporate basic nutrients including, inter alia,

  • fruits
  • whole grains
  • non-starchy vegetables
  • eggs
  • seafood
  • plant-protein
  • low-fat dairy

With the health benefit of reducing the risk of, inter alia,
  • of heart disease
  • cancer
  • diabetes
