Since, according to World Health Organization (WHO} statistics, heart failure is the #1 of chronic/unsolved health issues in our 'modern' society and time, leading to manifold premature death, it is valuable to learn that walnuts may give an answer, in line with nature.

THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND

As you know from our previous publications and seminars, to support and save our health and longevity, healthy diet – besides physical activity – is a basic prerequisite. With special reference to  nutrients our biologic-ecologic physical and mental strength requires.

Finding those – inter alia, though not exclusively – in nuts, including walnuts, as a type of vitally balanced diet.

HEALTH BENEFIT OF WALNUTS – SCIENTIFICALLY VALIDATED

Based on research at the
  • University of Minnesota School of Public Health in Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN,
and the
  • University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL,
verified also by the U.S. governmental
  • National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NIH),
consuming walnuts supports especially

Cardiovascular health

With special reference to walnut’s content of

- alpha-linoleic acid/ALA (as the plant-based omega-3 fatty acid)
- protein
- fiber
   &
- magnesium

which is not only anti-inflammatory but also cuts down, inter alia,

- triglyceride levels
according to research at, inter alia, University of Munich in Munich, Germany
and  Western University in London/Ontario, Canada.
   as well as

- plaque formation (atherosclerosis)
based on findings of the U.S. governmental National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NIH)

   and
- blood pressure
as verified by the U.S. governmental National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NIH)

Along with a positive impact on the gut microbiota according to research at the Pennsylvania State University at University Park, PA.

  • Quantity to consume

While we have learned now about the quality of walnuts for our health and life - with special reference to our heart - it leaves us with the question about the quantity to consume.

Based on above indicated research, consumption of

- 7 walnuts (14 halves) per day (representing one ounce)

are recommended. (Potentially adding up a couple of days or for once a week.)

With its nutritional value per day of, inter alia,

- 2.5 grams of alpha-linoleic acid  (which is highest value in comparison to other nuts such as, e.g.,        peanuts/almonds/pecans/pistachios)
- 4 grams of protein
- 2 grams fiber
   &
- 45 grams of magnesium

IN A NUTSHELL

According to World Health Organization (WHO) statistics, 86% of non-age-related (premature) deaths and 77% of all ailments in general in our industrialized world are the result of chronic (unsolved) health issues. With heart disease on top, followed by cancer and diabetes. Primarily based on unnatural lifestyle such as unhealthy diet. In this respect, it is of great value to learn that nature’s gift of walnuts is of major benefit.
