12/30/2018

While at first glance, overweight and even obesity may look as a regular – not to say ‘fashionable’ - part of our ‘advanced’ society, it is in fact a kind of ‘death sentence’ for our health. Therefore, if you are affected, take your chance to get off this vicious cycle. Simply with lifestyle changes in terms of healthy diet and physical activity. Read on to learn more about.

THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND

According to the U.S. governmental Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), two thirds of the adult population are overweight (with a Body Mass Index – BMI – between 25 and 29.9), and half of those being  ‘obese’ with a BMI even higher.

Unfortunately, this is not just an aesthetic issue but rather one of our health in general. Concerning almost each part of our biologic existence and life expectancy. With chances of heart attack as the no. 1 chronic disease of our society and cancer – no. 2. In the United States alone, more than 100,000 obesity-related cancer cases strike per year according to renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Center in Boston, MA.

To close this vicious cycle statistically, the link between obesity and premature death has been scientifically validated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Yet, the good news is that we can break up this vicious cycle – yes – when following 2 basic avenues of natural health: healthy diet and physical exercise.

LOSING WEIGHT WITH HEALTHY DIET – SCIENTIFICALLY VALIDATED

When we talk about ‘healthy’ diet with special reference to weight loss, this is not only an issue of limited calories intake, it is also supporting our body with the appropriate essential nutrients needed for health and longevity. In order to keep up biologic vitality on one side, and to control our Body Mass Index (BMI) on the other.

E.g., with B-vitamins such as B-9 (folic acid) and vitamin B-12. According to research at the University of Queensland in Australia.

Equally important for weight control is a daily dosage of 2000 IU of Vitamin D based on research at, inter alia, the University of Missouri.

Not to forget about avoiding deficiency of Vitamin E with at least 1000 IU daily. According to research at, inter alia, Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.

Scientifically validated also at, inter alia, the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA.

In fact, there are many more nutrients to consider for natural weight control. Leaving us with the question how to control these many single nutrients in our daily regimen.

As a rough but excellent guide you may want to get a cookbook of

Mediterranean Diet

With reference to plenty of fruits, vegetables, and olive oil. Supported by global research at, inter alia, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, just as the British Universities of East Anglia, Aberdeen and Cambridge, etc. All apostrophizing Mediterranean diet as one of the healthiest worldwide. With Mediterranean countries on top of WHO’s global life expectancy statistics.

BALANCING WEIGHT WITH EXERCISE – SCIENTIFICALLY VALIDATED

As already mentioned above, the other avenue to follow for our health in general (with special reference to heart and lungs) and weight loss in particular is certainly physical exercise. Like, e.g.,

Running

According to research at California State University in San Bernardino, CA.

Although aerobic exercise is better than indoor, even

Climbing Steps

by walking up stairs or by bouldering walls and up-hill hiking helps with weight loss. Based on research at, inter alia, the University of Belfast and the University of Ulster in Jordanstown, both Ireland.

Not to forget about regular and consistent

Work out

of at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous   activities per week. According to the Physical Activity Guidelines Advisory Committee, scientifically validated also at the US Department of Health and Human Services in Rockville, MD, and Atlanta, GA.

IN A NUTSHELL

While at first glance, overweight and even obesity may look as a regular – not to say ‘fashionable’ - part of our ‘advanced’ society, it is in fact a kind of ‘death sentence’ for our health. Therefore, if you are affected, take your chance to get off this vicious cycle. Simply with lifestyle changes in terms of healthy diet and physical activity.
